About

Storyteller, Thinker, creative, athlete, big sister, aunt, and women’s history nerd.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been telling stories. I started making magazines in middle school, analyzing sentence construction about the same time, trying to crack the code of how to win a reader’s attention.

In college, I worked on the student newspaper as a reporter and in the university marketing office as a copywriter.

I’ve worked in both fields — journalism and marketing — ever since and have been freelancing since 2017.

On the marketing side…

I help organizations with marketing and communications projects, crafting case studies, reports, blogs, and more. I’ve written entire websites from scratch, weekly and monthly newsletters for engaged donor and member audiences, and narrative stories that bring nonprofits’ missions to life for the reader. I match company voice and tone easily, and can smoothly switch from writing a longform narrative project to short, snappy marketing copy. Along with writing, I also provide developmental and copy editing services, helping companies deliver clean, clear messaging.

Industries: Higher education, healthcare, sustainability, edtech, philanthropy, museums.

On the Journalism side…

I write reported stories for outlets like RunHer Mag, 5280 Magazine, and Dwell. I run a newsletter called Women’s Barbell Club all about women and strength. Many of my stories are based in Colorado, but they don’t have to be. And I’m always looking to work with new-to-me publications.

Areas of interest: Public policy, women’s sports, fitness, search and rescue, climate, history, visual and textile arts.

Life outside of work…

Catch me at the gym, on the trail, browsing my local library or used bookstore, or buying more craft supplies. I’m typically either adding biographies to my women’s history library, working on a new craft project (knitting or embroidery), testing my deadlift, or enjoying time outside.
